2023 Tryout Schedule

Tryouts for the 2023 season will start on Monday, August 14th, and will occur each day through Friday, August 18th.  Sessions and times will be posted closer to tryout time.

Athletes are expected to attend ALL tryout dates unless otherwise noted.

Athletes will be assessed on technical abilities, tactical awareness, fitness, and team play.

Please note the following schedule is TENTATIVE and may change. All changes will be communicated via email. Tryouts are open to all incoming 8th - 12th grade boys soccer players.

Parents are not allowed to attend tryouts. Please leave the premises after dropping off your son and return at the end of his assigned time.


Athletes should bring the following items with them to each day of tryouts:
• Soccer Cleats
• Running Shoes
• Shinguards worn under soccer socks
• Properly inflated and labeled soccer ball
• Filled and labeled water bottle
• Tryout t-shirt (received on Monday, 8/14)
• Light snack for any breaks
• Sunscreen

 


Tentative 2023 Tryout Plans

Monday, August 14th - Day 1: All Grades (8th -12th)

8:30am   All grades report to the LNHS Lecture Hall, Room C211, for check-in and pre-meeting

  • Please bring $40.00 for tryout shirt and game socks to check-in (cash or check made out to LNHS Boys Soccer Booster)
  • All registrations forms and fees must be completed before an athlete is allowed to participate on the field
  • Do NOT wear cleats in the building!!!

10:00am - 12:00pm  (Stadium and practice turf)

- Fitness and Agility Tests

- Small-sided games

2:00pm - 3:30pm  (Stadium and practice turf)

- 7v7, 9v9, 11v11

 

Tuesday, August 15th:  All Grades (8th - 12th)

10:00am - 12:00pm  (Meet at the practice turf)

- Small-sided games

2:00pm - 3:30pm  (Stadium and practice turf)

- 7v7, 9v9, 11v11

Monday, August 21st:

7:00pm - 9:00pm  Parent, Athlete, Coach Mandatory Meeting

  • Lakeville North High School Auditorium
  • All athletes along with at least one parent/guardian are asked to attend the meeting
  • Information about the season will be shared by Coach Tyma and the boosters will be sharing information about our initiatives and requests for help
  • Parents are asked to bring 3 checks and a pen to the meeting for the boosters portion
    • Checks will cover volunteer commitment, fundraising goal and team hoodie
    • The boosters will discuss this further at the meeting
