Lakeville North head coach Jackie Richter is in her fifth season at the helm of the Panther program, having taken the reins in 2014.

Richter was named the Section 1AAA coach of the year in 2017, for the second consecutive season, before earning Class AAA state coach of the year honors for lead the Panthers to the state championship.

Following a 21-10 season in 2016, the sixth 20-win season of her high school coaching career, Richter was named the Section 1AAA Coach of the Year.

She earned her coaching license while attending the University of Minnesota and began her high school coaching career immediately after graduation, taking over at Minneapolis Southwest in 2004, where she posted a winning record in each of her 10 seasons, including five 20-win seasons, while compiling a record of 190-87.

While at Southwest, Richter joined the coaching staff at Northern Lights. She led her teams to AAU national championships in 2009 and 2011, and an international championship in 2012.

Richter then came to Lakeville North, which had won its second Class AAA state title in three years two seasons before her arrival but was beginning a rebuilding process.

In 2008, she joined the Mizuno Northern Lights coaching staff. She led her teams to a pair of AAU national championships (2009, 2011) a national runner-up finish (2012), a Denver Crossroads Qualifier Championship (2011), two Northern Lights Qualifier championships (2015 and 2016) and the clubs only international championship (2012) in Falconara, Italy.

A native of Rice Lake, Wis., Richter is a graduated from Minnesota, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French studies in 2004 and a master’s of education in kinesiology in 2006.

She competed in rowing for four years, earning team co-Most Valuable Rower and Second Team All-Big Ten honors as a senior. Richter was also a four-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time Big Ten Boat of the Week honoree.

She and her husband, Chad, are the parents of three children; sons Tori, 10, and Riley, 5, and daughter, Josie, 8; and the family, along with their dog, Alex, resides in Eagan.

Varsity Assistant Coach -- Taylor Hall

A 2008 graduate of Lakeville North, Taylor Hall is in her fifth season at her alma mater as a varsity assistant coach.

The Section 1AAA assistant coach of the year each of the last two seasons, Hall was named the state Class AAA assistant coach of the year in 2017.

A four-time national champion at Concordia-St. Paul, Hall was a defensive specialist/libero, setting a school record for career serve reception percentage (.967) while becoming the 11th player in school history to record 1,000 career digs.She was a CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine All-Academic First Team pick and earned Northern Sun Conference All-Academic honors three times.

As a Panther, she was a four-time volleyball letter winner and a member of four consecutive Lake Conference championship teams, making four Class AAA state tournament appearances, which included a pair of runner-up finishes and two third-place finishes. An all-conference and academic all-conference honoree, Hall earned a spot on the 2007 State All-Tournament team and, in 2008, earned first-team St. Paul Pioneer Press All-Metro honors and Minneapolis Star Tribune second-team All-Metro honors.

In addition to an outstanding playing career, she has coached the Lakeville North Juniors and the Mizuno Northern Lights volleyball clubs for a combined seven seasons, and has won two national championships.

Hall graduated from Concordia in 2012 with a major in criminal justice and a minor in political science. She is an Investigator/Senior Administrative Assistant in the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation for Hennepin County, and with her husband, Ty, who played baseball at Concordia, have two children, Hudson, 3, and Hunter, 1. The family resides in Farmington, Minn.

Varsity/JV Assistant Coach -- Nate Erdal

Nate Erdal is in his fourth season at Lakeville North, returning to the staff after taking the 2017 season off.

A graduate of Lakeville South, Erdal served as a student manager for the Panther volleyball progam under legendary coach Milan Mader before the school split into North and South for the 2005-06 season.

A four-year member of the University of Minnesota’s A club team, he was a four-time All-Big Ten selection and was the conference setter of the year in 2010 and 2011.

Erdal served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Gopher women’s program in 2010 under Mike Hebert.

He then coached at Hinsdale South High School in Chicago and was a head coach for the 1st Alliance club program out of Chicago.

Recently, he completed his eighth season as an assistant coach for the Northern Lights club program in Burnsville.

Junior Varsity Coach -- Megan Williams

Beginning her third season as a member of the Panther coaching staff is Megan Williams, who takes over as the junior varsity coach after two seasons as the program’s 9B coach.

Williams is a graduate of Eagan high school and played six seasons of club volleyball, including three with North Lights, where she has served as a coach for 10 seasons.

Williams has served as an assistant varsity coach at both East Ridge and Eastview High Schools as well.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Williams is in her third year teaching at Lake Marion Elementary School in Lakeville.

10th Grade Coach -- Dave Laufenburger

Dave Laufenburger joins the Lakeville North staff for his first season, but is no stranger to high school volleyball or the South Suburban Confernce.

He has coached at all levels of high school, including three seasons as the head coach at Eastview.

His coaching career began in 1999 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he played club volleyball.

In his 20th year of teaching match, and third in ISD 194, Laufenburger and his wife, Kim, have lived in Lakeville for 18 years and have three children.

9A Coach --Lisa Slinde

Lisa Slinde joins the Lakeville North staff for her first season and will take over the 9A squad.

She was a three-sport athlete at Owatonna High School before attending Minnesota State University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in corporate and community fitness.

Slinde has two daughters playing collegiately this year. Erin is a junior setter at the University of West Virginia, who was named to the Big 12 All-Freshmen team in 2016 and to the academic All-Big 12 first team last season.

Eric is a freshman at Lee-McRae College, where she will be a first-year setter for the Bobcats.

Slinde was the Fall Inhouse and Traveling Coordinator for the Rosemount Volleyball Association from 2009-2013. She also coached the 9A team for Rosemount High School from 2010-2012 and just completed her fifth season as a head coach for the Northern Lights club program in Burnsville.

9B Coach -- Brett Johnson

Brett Johnson rejoins the Lakeville North staff after a four-year hiatus, having coach in for the Panthers in 2012 and 2013.

He also coached at Minnetonka High School in 1994 and 1995 and was a co-head coach for the Panthers boys’ club team this spring.

A graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper High School, Johnson earned a bachelor of science degree in business and accounting from the University of Minnesota in 1988.

His interest in volleyball began while playing intramural at Minnesota when he played in Kora and watched the 1988 Olympic team win a gold medal.

Outside volleyball, Johnson is a senior realtor for Edina Realty.
