Tony Market has been the Head Varsity Baseball coach at Lakeville North High School since the fall of 2005. Prior to being named head coach, Market was an assistant at Lakeville High School from 1996 to 2005 including the Varsity Assistant on the Minnesota Class AAA State Championship Team in 2005.
In his 15 seasons as manager of the Panthers, North has compiled a 242-108 record. LNHS teams have qualified for the state tournament 6 times (2013-2018) and won the conference 7 times. Coach Market was named the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Class AAAA Coach of the Year in 2016 & 2020. In 2017 he was named the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Region 5 Coach of the Year.
Market played baseball and football at Memorial High School in Eau Claire, WI. Upon graduation he started college and played baseball for Rick Matthews at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, IA. He then completed his degree, played and coached for Dean Bowyer at Mankato State University in Mankato, MN. He has coached numerous teams at the Babe Ruth and Junior Legion levels. Market also coaches football at LNHS. He is a member of the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association. He is a participant in the Legacy Builders Chapter at LNHS.
Coach Market teaches in the Physical Education Department at Lakeville North Senior High School. He is married to Stephanie Market (Piper) and has two children: Madeline and Julia. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family as well as hunting, fishing, golfing, and “training” the family dog-Hank.
